The Chief Financial Officer is an integral senior-level leader at One Sky.  The CFO is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Finance Department and works with the Chief Executive Officer and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to manage the financial strength and minimize the risks of the organization.

Overview of Duties

  • Prepare and update income, balance sheet and cash flow statements on a monthly basis, consistent with a schedule reviewed with and approved by the Board of Directors
  • Present monthly financial statements to the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
  • Submit monthly financial statements to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Oversee and ensure that all contractual reporting commitments to the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services are being met in a timely basis.
  • Assist Chief Executive Officer in evaluating and negotiating budgets with subcontractors.
  • Monitor budget and contract status and provide technical assistance to subcontractor agencies in matters of budgeting and accounting.
  • Perform annual review/audit of financial records of subcontractors, as necessary.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and advocacy with State Liaison concerning financial matters. Assist Chief Executive Officer in negotiating annual budget with same.
  • Oversee and manage the organization’s casualty, property, liability, officers and directors insurance programs.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train and develop Business Office   Ensure that all staff members’ training is up-to-date.
  • Implement, update and maintain training programs, policies and procedures to ensure that all Business Office staff understand and take full ownership of their role as managers of the agency’s finances and stewards of the public’s money.
  • Ensure that all Business Office staff understand the mission of One Sky Community Services and have received training about the rights of the individuals and families we serve, the different types of services we provide, the different means by which those services can be delivered and our responsibilities under applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Foster and encourage a culture of openness and accountability within the Business Office and between the Business Office and other organizational entities within One Sky.
  • Delegate responsibility as necessary and appropriate to all Business Office staff.

Requirements the CFO:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related degree required.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience of progressive financial experience with at least 3 years’ experience as a senior financial leader.
  • Proven experience in ability to develop and foster a productive and cohesive financial team.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Attention to detail in preparing budgets that accurately reflect the long-term strategic and short-term operating goals of the organization and financial statements that are an accurate representation of the current actual performance of the organization against that budget.
  • Excellent analytical skills to be able to interpret financial statements, proactively identify underlying trends and share those with members of the Senior Leadership Team. Strong negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit environment.
  • Willingness to undergo criminal background check in accordance with all local and state laws.


SERVICE COORDINATOR – Full Time- Portsmouth, NH

If so, One Sky Community Services is looking for a Service Coordinator to enrich the lives of our clients!

This is a full-time position which includes eligibility for our organization’s medical and dental plans, 11 paid holidays, and a generous amount of paid time off that begins accruing your first day.

Responsibilities of the Service Coordinator:

  • The Service Coordinator is responsible for evaluating and determining clients’ needs for services.
  • Service Coordinator ensures overall compliance, quality, and cost budgeting of service delivery.
  • Service Coordinator is responsible for prioritizing and negotiating needed services in ways that are appropriate, cost effective and quality driven.
  • Work schedule will vary in order to accommodate the individuals served, their families, program schedules and department/agency events. These duties will require the service coordinator to spend considerable time on the phone and working away from the office setting.

Requirements for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Services or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in related position with responsibility for developing community, family and client relationships, creating service plans, negotiating and budgeting resources, quality assurance, compliance, or other comparable areas.
  • Previous experience in budgeting, cost accounting, or other areas of finance.
  • Must be able to physically access family homes, community buildings, program sites, etc.
  • Must have own transportation. A criminal record, driver record and proof of auto insurance coverage of 100/300 is required; employment is contingent on satisfactory results.

Our mission at One Sky Community Services is to assist people with developmental disabilities and brain injuries to live as valued and participating members in their communities.

With your help, our clients become stronger, more independent members of society.

We currently have several openings for family hired direct support professionals to assist and support our clients and their families throughout northern Rockingham county.

We serve children, teenagers and adults with developmental disabilities and/or acquired brain injuries.

These positions are typically part time and would be ideal for as a second job, current college student. etc. since most families are flexible about the work schedules.

Most positions involve taking clients out into the community to attend/participate in pre-planned activities such as (but not limited to): swimming, bowling, shopping, music events, sporting events and anything else that is of interest of the particular client and in line with their goals.

The ideal candidate would be creative, patient, outgoing, caring and have excellent judgment. Experience working with people with disabilities is a plus!

Some clients require personal care and wheelchair transfers.

The pay rate for these positions vary, but typically pay a higher wage than most DSP positions elsewhere.

Candidate must submit to and successfully pass a NH Criminal Background Check, driving record check and BEAS (Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services) check.

All staff are also required to have reliable transportation and automobile insurance. These positions typically require the use of the employee’s vehicle to transport the client to various community activities.

A state mandated Tb test is also required at no cost to the candidate after an offer has been made.

The family of an individual in our services is looking for a part-time DSP for weekday help. This DSP would be working with one of the individuals we serve in her community of Nottingham. The hours for this position at 9am-2pm, 4 days per week. No weekends required.

Some activities involve accompanying this individual to the pool for swimming, shopping together, and to other activities in the community.

The ideal DSP has:

-a High school diploma or equivalent

-An outgoing and positive outlook

-A good work ethic (ie is dependable and punctual)

-A strong sense of teamwork

-Ability to “think outside the box”

Candidates are required to undergo a background check in accordance to state regulations, have a valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.

The family of a young woman with Spina Bifida in the Seacoast is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Direct Support Provider (DSP). Having recently transitioned from High School, at first this support will include exploring the community and trying new activities in order to set up a new and fulfilling dail yroutine. When a viable and enjoyable routine has been established the DSP will continue to support the client by encouraging interactions within the community and promoting independence.

Candidate for this position must be flexible, king, and patient (yet firm). Candidate must havea valid driver’s license and be willing to undergo a Criminal and Driving background check.

Transportation for this position will be in the client’s handicap accessible van.

This is a full-time, 35hrs/week position which is eligible for benefits including health insurance, vacation time, and holiday pay. The work week is Monday-Friday.
