Casey and Spenser are a high-energy pair – when the long school day is over, they decompress in their family’s "sensory integration room". Sister and brother both qualify for One Sky’s Family Services, which their mother Jennifer calls "an absolute godsend". Respite Services enabled the children’s parents to go out for dinner alone for the first time in five years – “Can you imagine? It’s like what normal people do!” enthuses Jennifer, who now enjoys regular dinner dates with her husband. And One Sky connected the family to In Home Support Services, which provides a trained worker to assist Casey at home for 12 hours a week. One Sky's Children’s Service Coordinator helped with complicated applications for Social Security disability benefits and is available at convenient times and places to gather information the family needs. Through One Sky's Family Support Advisory Council, the family has applied for financial assistance to purchase a house alarm to keep track of Spenser’s movements ("He's fast," says Jennifer), and a global positioning device to protect him from cars on the 50-mile-an-hour route that runs by the family’s house.
