Our private non-profit organization serves 24 cities and towns in the seacoast region of New Hampshire. We’re part of a statewide system that provides and arranges supports for children, adults and their families. Our staff of 200 works to assist people in northern Rockingham County to reach their full potential, by providing service coordination and family support services. Through our Futures programs we provide trusted direct supports for high school transition, education, employment, residential and community services. Further program choices are available from 17 agencies that subcontract with One Sky.

SCHOOL TO WORK SUPPORT STAFF – FT/PT – Northern Rockingham County

One Sky Futures has immediate openings for 20-30 hours/wk, Monday –Friday for School to Work Support Staff working with young adults transitioning from high school to adult life. Our goal is to provide quality services that support people, while helping staff develop their careers in this field.

Some of the essential functions of the School to Work Support Staff are (additional duties will be explained during interview process): 

  • Provide assistance to learn, develop, improve, practice and maintain basic skills and dispositions related to: vocational and employability; ongoing education and training; independent living; community participation and social/interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative and innovation in program development for the student and all students served by One Sky, including developing social, educational, employment, community access and independent living opportunities.
  • Assist the student/client in acquiring, developing, maintaining and evaluating employment opportunities, including paid/competitive and volunteer work.
  • Assist the student/client in self-advocacy, self-determination, developing/maintaining positive relationships and becoming aware of and independently utilizing age-appropriate community services and resources, including educational/training resources.
  • Provide support and direct instruction of learning objectives that are tailored to the student/client’s needs, interests, strengths, preferences and competencies and lifestyle as described in the IEP/IPE/ISP.
  • Follow through with communication, mobility, physical, behavior management and psychological strategies developed to assist the student. Document implementation and results/effects of these strategies as required.

 

To be eligible, you must possess a minimum of an Associate’s Degree, a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance policy and submit to a NH Criminal Background Check, a driving record check and a BEAS check. An agency paid Tb test must also be complete prior to start date.

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS – GROUP HOMES – FULL TIME & PART TIME – Newmarket & N. Hampton

We are accepting application for a Direct Support Professional for a full and part time positions working at both of our local group homes (Newmarket and North Hampton, NH).

The DSP will provide assistance to the individuals in the home and community to develop and enhance basic living skills, personal decision making, social skills, safety skills, a healthy lifestyle including good nutrition, and rights and responsibilities as citizens.

Some of the essential job functions are (additional duties will be explained during interview process):

  • Ensure health & safety of individuals
  • Implement Individual Service Agreements
  • Provide personal care & hygiene
  • Perform housekeeping duties
  • Provide administrative duties
  • Attend staff development training as scheduled

 

Education Requirements: High school diploma required, Associates degree preferred. LNA background preferred, but not required.

Skills Required: Experience with tube feeding, behavioral challenges, CPI or Mandt training helpful.

Pay is DOE – range is $12-$13.00/hr with additional hourly stipend for those who have successfully completed the Direct Support Professional certification course.

GROUP HOME DSPs NEEDED – ON CALL PER DIEM –  North Hampton & Newmarket

Work with people with physical disabilities and behavioral challenges. Seeking someone experienced with personal care for individuals with quadriplegia, using Hoyer lift, wheelchair lift and tie downs in a handicapped van, communication devices and standers.

The DSP will provide assistance to the individuals in the home and community to develop and enhance basic living skills, personal decision making, social skills, safety skills, a healthy lifestyle including good nutrition, and rights and responsibilities as citizens.

Skills Required:

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO FAMILY SUPPORT/RESPITE COORDINATOR – 40 HRS/WK – Portsmouth

Our Family Support department is seeking a reliable, experienced and organized Administrative Assistant to Family Support and to also act as the department’s Respite Coordinator.

This role’s objective is to provide administrative support to the Director of Family Support and the Family Support Team in a variety of tasks.  It is also responsible for managing the operation and maintenance of the respite program.

Skills Required include: At least 4 years experience in all facets of general office support and at least 3 years experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families.  Strong organizational, computer, communication and interpersonal skills necessary.  Requires statistical reporting and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at one time.  Must be able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.

Education Required: Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university in a related field.

Other Requirements: a valid driver’s license, current auto insurance policy and submit to a NH Criminal Background Check, a driving record check and a BEAS check. An agency paid Tb test must also be complete prior to start date.

In recognition of One Sky’s need to strengthen employee computer skills, a software application support specialist is needed to assist with the implementation and ongoing expansion of the various software applications the agency is currently using and new software applications it plans to implement.

Responsibilities include:

  • Configure and implement application features within the agency
  • Test and provide final QA before a new feature is ready to go live
  •  Provide training to employees in the use of applications
  • Facilitate the software component of employee new hire orientations

A Portsmouth, NH family is seeking someone to assist in the care of their 12 year old son with autism. Duties would include assisting in activities of daily life such as: bathing, toileting, tooth brushing, cleaning his room, cooking/baking, practicing social skills in the community, and from time to time going to the pool to practice swimming – with flotation devices.

The benefits of this position are the joy of helping a loving, kind, young boy with autism learn everyday skills. Experience working with individuals with autism is a plus, but we will train the right candidate.

A family in Greenland, NH is looking for someone to provide a variety of daily responsibilities and activities with and for our 22 year old daughter with developmental disabilities.  Position responsibilities include some meal prep, job support, transportation, schedule coordination and engaging in peer social and/or community activities.  Activities vary per day and per week.  Our daughter is kind hearted and pretty consistently upbeat.  She loves singing to the radio, following baseball stats, swimming, cooking, crafts and enjoys staying busy.  We are looking for someone who can interact with her as the young adult she is developmentally, while supporting her navigating through her week, including her work.

Hourly wage is $12-14/hr.  Schedule is M-Thurs in the range of 7:30a-3:30p for a total of 23-26 hrs/week.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and compassionate person to join a young woman from Nottingham NH who is affected by a developmental disability. You will be providing one-on-one home and community-based supports. You must be willing to explore opportunities wherever they may lead, enjoy meeting new people, and believe people with disabilities can and should lead full happy lives.

This position requires a high school degree or equivalent. The ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently as documentation is required. All applicants must have a valid NH driver’s license, auto insurance and submit to a criminal record, Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services and motor vehicle check.

The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to work with minimal supervision. It would be beneficial to have experience providing direct support and be able to adapt to changing environments. Transportation is required for this program and will include travel throughout the surrounding areas. This is a 20 hour per week program Monday thru Friday. Scheduling has potential to be flexible but this young woman needs to be driven to work by 4pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Rate of pay will depend on experience.

Meetings are held from 5-7 in the evening, on the second Monday of the month,10 times a year (light supper served) at our Portsmouth office. We should have twelve members on our Board. Volunteers must reside in upper Rockingham county.

One Sky Community Services is a New Hampshire private not-for-profit corporation, one of ten Area Agencies designated by the state for the purposes of planning, creating and maintaining a comprehensive service delivery system intended to maximize the community integration, growth and independence of people with developmental disabilities in the 24 cities and towns of upper Rockingham County. We provide some services directly, and also provide funding to agencies such as the Richie McFarland Children’s Center, Easter Seals, Great Bay Services, and Living Innovations.
