Our private non-profit organization serves 24 cities and towns in the seacoast region of New Hampshire. We’re part of a statewide system that provides and arranges supports for children, adults and their families. Our staff of 200 works to assist people in northern Rockingham County to reach their full potential, by providing service coordination and family support services. Through our Futures programs we provide trusted direct supports for high school transition, education, employment, residential and community services. Further program choices are available from 17 agencies that subcontract with One Sky.

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL – PART TIME – Portsmouth, NH

A Portsmouth, NH family is seeking someone to assist in the care of their 12 year old son with Autism.

Duties would include assisting in activities of daily life such as: bathing; toileting; tooth brushing; cleaning his room; cooking/baking; practicing social skills in the community; and from time to time going to the pool to practice swimming – with floatation devices.

The benefits of this position are the joy of helping a loving, kind, young boy with Autism learn everyday skills.

Experience working with individuals with Autism a plus, but we will train the right candidate.

Hourly wage is $12/hour; 8 hours per week

Position requires criminal background checks, Bureau of Elderly and Adult Service (BEAS) check, driving record checks and a Tb test to be completed prior to employment; at no cost to the candidate. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance policy required.

MENTOR AND ROLE MODEL – PART TIME – Rye, NH

A family located in Rye, NH is seeking a positive role model and mentor for their male pre-teen son with a developmental disability. A male role model would be ideal, but all qualified and interested applicants will be considered.

The ideal role model/mentor candidate would be able to provide a positive but firm approach and be willing to use multiple “tools” to motivate the client. The role model/mentor will provide transportation and support to client during client’s community activities. The role model/mentor would also be able to provide general assistance to client with frequent interactions with his siblings, with the goal of a positive outcome.

Flexible schedule, but primarily between the hours of 3:30p-7p during weekdays, with occasional assistance on weekends would be ideal. Depending on the availability of the candidate, days worked would range between 2 or 3 days per week. This is a part time position.

The successful candidate for this Role Model/Mentor position would possess experience working with people with disabilities, be patient, positive and firm, be able to model positive behavior both in public and while interacting with family.

Candidates must have reliable transportation, a valid drivers license with a good driving record, a current auto insurance coverage and be able to successfully complete a NH Criminal Background Check, BEAS Check and Driving Record Check. All new hires must submit to an agency paid TB test, per NH State Regulations.

One Sky Futures seeks homes to serve as residences for people with a variety of challenges in their lives. Responsibilities include assisting with aspects of daily living such as shopping, exercise and cooking. Compensation is in the form of a monthly stipend. Minimum monthly documentation required. This position grows into a way of life as the individuals, ideally, become part of your family. It’s an opportunity to enhance your and someone else’s quality of life. PERSONAL CARE PROVIDER – PART TIME – Raymond, NH

A family in Raymond, NH is seeking a caring personal care provider for their 14 year old daughter with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

This young lady enjoys going to the mall, spending time in the community and attending her therapeutic horseback riding lessons.

Candidate would be responsible for providing verbal prompts to encourage personal care tasks and assisting her by walking through tasks such as laundry and making snacks with her.

Hourly wage is $13.50/hour; 10 hours per week.

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL – PART TIME – Greenland

A family in Greenland, NH is looking for someone to provide a variety of daily responsibilities and activities with and for our 22 year old daughter with developmental disabilities.  Position responsibilities include some meal prep, job support, transportation, schedule coordination and engaging in peer social and/or community activities.  Activities vary per day and per week.  Our daughter is kind hearted and pretty consistently upbeat.  She loves singing to the radio, following baseball stats, swimming, cooking, crafts and enjoys staying busy.  We are looking for someone who can interact with her as the young adult she is developmentally, while supporting her navigating through her week, including her work.

Hourly wage is $12-14/hr.  Schedule is M-Thurs in the range of 7:30a-3:30p for a total of 23-26 hrs/week.

Additional Requirements include: must have reliable vehicle that is insured/inspected/registered; successful completion of criminal background check, BEAS check and Driving Record Check; Tb test may also be required at the discretion of the family.

COMMUNITY DIRECTED SERVICES – DIRECT CARE – PART TIME – Nottingham

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and compassionate person to join a young woman from Nottingham NH who is affected by a developmental disability. You will be providing one-on-one home and community-based supports. You must be willing to explore opportunities wherever they may lead, enjoy meeting new people, and believe people with disabilities can and should lead full happy lives.

This position requires a high school degree or equivalent. The ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently as documentation is required. All applicants must have a valid NH driver’s license, auto insurance and submit to a criminal record, Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services and motor vehicle check.

The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to work with minimal supervision. It would be beneficial to have experience providing direct support and be able to adapt to changing environments. Transportation is required for this program and will include travel throughout the surrounding areas. This is a 20 hour per week program Monday thru Friday. Scheduling has potential to be flexible but this young woman needs to be driven to work by 4pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Rate of pay will depend on experience.

A family in Northwood, NH is seeking a caring and positive role model for an 20 year old young man with developmental disabilities.

Duties include picking this young man up from school and taking him to pre-planned after school activities 9-15 hours per week, 3 hours per day.

Experience with behavioral issues preferred.  Client’s interests include going to the gym, fishing and being outdoors.
Ideally, looking for a positive male role model who can provide positive behavior protocols.
 
Hourly wage is $13/hour plus mileage.
Must have reliable vehicle that is insured/inspected/registered.  Criminal background check, BEAS check and driving record check required.  Tb test may also be required at the discretion of the family.

We are seeking  reliable, confident and professional caregivers to assist a 25 year old male in his family home.  12 hour shifts (7a-7p, 7p-7a) including days, evenings, overnights and/or weekends.

In addition to assisting in personal care and therapeutic exercises, you will assist in participating in community activities.  Ideally, you have experience working with people with disabilities, using a hoyer lift, stander, and assisting in transportation in a wheelchair van safely, but we will provide training for the right candidate(s).

You must be physically able to perform these duties, like to be active  and have an engaging and enthusiastic personality.

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL  – PART TIME – Portsmouth, NH

A Portsmouth, NH family is seeking a support staff that can assist in the care of their 9 year old son with a developmental disability. The ideal candidate is patient, affectionate, positive and firm, and able to model positive behavior both in public and in the home.

This staff person will also need to be prepared to lift and carry ~40lbs. Their son is very small, non-verbal, friendly, and enjoys music, being held, and trips to the playground. He can walk with assistance/supervision but also uses a stroller for longer distances, such as walks to downtown. Duties would include assisting in activities of daily life such as: bathing, toileting, eating, walking, practicing social skills in the community, and from time to time going to the pool to practice swimming.

This is a part time position and the family is looking for someone who can work approximately 13 hours per week at a $15 hourly rate of pay. The schedule has opportunity to be flexible, but ideally between the hours of 5:00pm-7:00pm during weekdays, and 3 hours on weekends. The start date for staff to begin is November 1, 2017.

This is a 24 hour per week program Tuesday through Friday with the hours of 7:30-1:30pm. Rate of pay will depend on experience.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and energetic person to support a 21 yr young lady with multiple medical diagnosis and Autism.  Duties include supporting a young lady with developmental disabilities overnight in her own apartment monitoring for health and safety. Light household duties.

This client has a very active mind and needs a support staff able respect her choices and support her in multiple activities and environments. Prospective staff need to be flexible and committed to supporting this young lady to reach her maximum potential. Dependability is priority! Experience given consideration but dependability, commitment and a positive attitude more important.

Hours are: Mon -Thurs 11pm – 7am; Generous hourly wage dependent on experience.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A ONE SKY BOARD MEMBER?

We welcome community-minded individuals to join One Sky’s volunteer Board of Directors when our numbers fall below twelve. Meetings are held from 5-7 in the evening, on the second Monday of the month,10 times a year (light supper served) at our Portsmouth office. We should have twelve members on our Board. Volunteers must reside in upper Rockingham county.

One Sky Community Services is a New Hampshire private not-for-profit corporation, one of ten Area Agencies designated by the state for the purposes of planning, creating and maintaining a comprehensive service delivery system intended to maximize the community integration, growth and independence of people with developmental disabilities in the 24 cities and towns of upper Rockingham County. We provide some services directly, and also provide funding to agencies such as the Richie McFarland Children’s Center, Easter Seals, Great Bay Services, and Living Innovations.
