STAFF ACCOUNTANT – FULL TIME – Portsmouth

Our private non-profit organization serves 24 cities and towns in the seacoast region of New Hampshire. We’re part of a statewide system that provides and arranges supports for children, adults and their families. Our staff of 200 works to assist people in northern Rockingham County to reach their full potential, by providing service coordination and family support services. Through our Futures programs we provide trusted direct supports for high school transition, education, employment, residential and community services. We are currently seeking a full time staff accountant for our Portsmouth office.

The Staff Accountant works with the Controller and other members of the Senior Leadership Team to manage the financial strength and minimize the risks of the organization. Responsible for overall performance of the financial reporting system. Manages general ledger and ensures that financial statements are in balance and reconciled monthly. Posts entries to and reconciles general ledger accounts to ensure that they accurately reflect current operations of the organization. Reviews and reconciles proposed and actual spending for all services provided by the organization to approved funding sources such as NH DHHS Budget Tracking System (BTS) and to financial reporting system. Works closely with Payroll Administrator to ensure that payroll costs are accurately reflected on income statement and balance sheet. Oversees preparation of monthly financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement) and management reports. Reviews and approves all bank reconciliations. Monitors fixed assets.

BS degree in Accounting and Finance and 2 years’ experience or AS degree in Accounting and finance and 4 years’ experience in a similar responsible position.

Demonstrated understanding and practical application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Must be inquisitive, have strong analytical skills and possess a relentless attention to detail and accuracy.

Must be process oriented and able to understand interconnections between multiple data system and be able to move between those systems to problem solve issues. Must be a proactive problem solver who understands his or her role and will take the initiative to do what it takes and involve whoever needs to be consulted to resolve an issue.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with internal staff and the individuals and families that we serve. Must be able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.

Must have at least an intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Access. Prior work experience with Solomon financial management system a big plus.

Valid drivers license, proof of auto insurance, reliable vehicle, criminal background and driving record checks. Tb test required within 30 days of hire.

This position is 40 hours/week, M-F 8:30a-4:30p located in our Portsmouth office.

SERVICE COORDINATOR – FULL TIME – Portsmouth

We are currently seeking a full time, benefits eligible, Service Coordinator in our Portsmouth Office.

Job Objectives: The Service Coordinator is responsible for evaluating and determining clients’ needs for services. Service Coordinators ensure overall compliance, quality and cost budgeting of service delivery. The Service Coordinator is responsible for prioritizing and negotiating needed services in ways that are appropriate, cost effective and quality driven.

Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Human Services or related field.

Skills Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a related position with responsibility for developing community , family and client relationships, creating service plans, negotiating and budgeting resources, quality assurance, compliance or other comparable areas.
  • Previous experience in budgeting, cost accounting or other areas of finance helpful.
  • Ability to evaluate service needs and monitor ongoing services for cost efficiency.
  • Competency in logistics and cost estimating of services, ensuring that services are delivered in a timely, cost efficient way with appropriate outcomes.
  • Knowledge of community resources and the ability to match clients to those resources.
  • Highly effective skills in critical thinking.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities, flexible to meet clients’ needs.

FAMILY SUPPORT TRANSITION COORDINATOR – FULL TIME – Portsmouth

One Sky Community Services is currently seeking a full time, 40 hours/week Family Support Transition Coordinator for our Portsmouth, NH office.

The role of this position is to coordinate the transition of young individuals with developmental disabilities from school into adult life opportunities.

Skills Required:

Minimum of 3 years experience working with individuals with disabilities and their families. Proven experience in school system administration, community networking and advocacy. Must have excellent expressive, receptive and written communication skills. Ability to work as part of various and diverse teams

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related profession.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and energetic person to support a 21 yr young lady with multiple medical diagnosis and Autism.

This client has a very active mind and needs a support staff able respect her choices and support her in multiple activities and environments. Prospective staff need to be flexible and committed to supporting this young lady to reach her maximum potential. Dependability is priority! Experience given consideration but dependability, commitment and a positive attitude more important.

Training provided and successful candidate must pass a NH criminal background check, BEAS and driving record check. $15/Hour. Guaranteed between 20-30 hrs weekly.

DIRECT SERVICE PROVIDER – PART TIME – Portsmouth

N.H. Seacoast Family seeking an energetic, positive, and compassionate person to provide one-on-one assistance for a happy young adult male who is developmentally disabled and blind. Candidate will work directly with the family and provide meaningful experiences within the Greater NH Seacoast Community. Meet the client at his home to transport to various activities set up by the family and Service Provider to include: Individual and Group Music Class; Pool Swimming at the Works , Going to “The Works” to exercise; Bowling; Horseback riding and Volunteering at Thrift Store. You will need to assist client in all aspects of daily living and have a caring and understanding outlook. Sensitive/positive communication skills are needed to develop a relationship as this person has limited communication. Training is included to ensure Provider is adjusted with client.

Starting pay of $14/hr: 21 or 28 hrs/wk, Wed, Thurs and Friday 10am to 5pm, Paid Mileage at 40 cents/mile, Paid Holidays and Vacation Days, Year End Bonus.

Requirements: * High school degree or equivalent. * Ability to lift 50 lbs. * Have a driver license with a personally insured vehicle capable of transporting client. * Must submit to criminal record and motor vehicle check. * Experience or training in the healthcare field preferred. 7 hrs per day Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday may become available at a later date. Competitive pay with holidays and vacation days.

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL – PART TIME – Greenland

A family in Greenland, NH is looking for someone to provide a variety of daily responsibilities and activities with and for our 22 year old daughter with developmental disabilities.  Position responsibilities include some meal prep, job support, transportation, schedule coordination and engaging in peer social and/or community activities.  Activities vary per day and per week.  Our daughter is kind hearted and pretty consistently upbeat.  She loves singing to the radio, following baseball stats, swimming, cooking, crafts and enjoys staying busy.  We are looking for someone who can interact with her as the young adult she is developmentally, while supporting her navigating through her week, including her work.

This positions begins August 29th, 2016.

Hourly wage is $12-14/hr.  Schedule is M-Thurs in the range of 7:30a-3:30p for a total of 23-26 hrs/week.

Additional Requirements include: must have reliable vehicle that is insured/inspected/registered; successful completion of criminal background check, BEAS check and Driving Record Check; Tb test may also be required at the discretion of the family.

COMMUNITY DIRECTED SERVICES – DIRECT CARE – PART TIME – Nottingham

We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, creative, and compassionate person to join a young woman from Nottingham NH who is affected by a developmental disability. You will be providing one-on-one home and community-based supports. You must be willing to explore opportunities wherever they may lead, enjoy meeting new people, and believe people with disabilities can and should lead full happy lives.

This position requires a high school degree or equivalent. The ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently as documentation is required. All applicants must have a valid NH driver’s license, auto insurance and submit to a criminal record, Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services and motor vehicle check.

The ideal candidate must be flexible and able to work with minimal supervision. It would be beneficial to have experience providing direct support and be able to adapt to changing environments. Transportation is required for this program and will include travel throughout the surrounding areas. This is a 20 hour per week program Monday thru Friday. Scheduling has potential to be flexible but this young woman needs to be driven to work by 4pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Rate of pay will depend on experience.

Duties include picking this young man up from school and taking him to pre-planned after school activities 9-15 hours per week, 3 hours per day.

Experience with behavioral issues preferred.  Client’s interests include going to the gym, fishing and being outdoors.
Ideally, looking for a positive male role model who can provide positive behavior protocols.

We are seeking a day program staff 3 days per week for a young woman in Seabrook.  The days/hours are as follows:
Monday, Thursday and Friday: 8:30a-1:30p

This young lady is a loving, emotionally intelligent human being with a genetic disorder who loves to listen to music and chat with others.

In working with her there are certain characteristics of her disorder to consider in your approach with her.  These include: an outgoing social nature, an exuberant enthusiasm, a sense of the dramatic, over-friendliness, a short attention span, extra sensitivity to sounds, and anxiety especially about upcoming events and changes in the weather.  She also experiences difficulty in modulating her emotions.

She enjoys spending time at the library and/or book stores and going for walks outdoors.  It is anxiety provoking for her when dealing with change or trying new things.  Establishing a routine is extremely important when working with this young lady, as well as working together to make a schedule or plan for the week.

Job Objective: To provide assistance to the individuals in the home and community to develop and enhance basic living skills, personal decision making, social skills, safety skills, a healthy lifestyle including good nutrition, and rights and responsibilities as citizens.

Education Requirements: High school diploma required, Associates degree preferred. LNA background preferred, but not required.

Skills Required: Experience with tube feeding, behavioral challenges, CPI or Mandt training helpful.

In addition to assisting in personal care and therapeutic exercises, you will assist in participating in community activities.  Ideally, you have experience working with people with disabilities, using a hoyer life, stander, and assisting in transportation in a wheelchair van safely, but we will provide training for the right candidate(s).

You must be physically able to perform these duties, like to be active  and have an engaging and enthusiastic personality.

Meetings are held from 5-7 in the evening, on the second Monday of the month,10 times a year (light supper served) at our Portsmouth office. We should have twelve members on our Board. Volunteers must reside in upper Rockingham county.

One Sky Community Services is a New Hampshire private not-for-profit corporation, one of ten Area Agencies designated by the state for the purposes of planning, creating and maintaining a comprehensive service delivery system intended to maximize the community integration, growth and independence of people with developmental disabilities in the 24 cities and towns of upper Rockingham County.
